VIDDHAKARMA RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP RULE BOOK
(Maximum Grant up to ₹75,000)
Issued by: Vd. Gogate Memorial Foundation, Pune

1. PREAMBLE
Viddhakarma is a significant para-surgical procedure described in classical Ayurvedic literature including the Sushruta Samhita and Charaka Samhita. To promote scientific validation, documentation, and advancement of this classical therapeutic procedure, the Vd. Gogate Memorial Foundation, Pune hereby institutes the Viddhakarma Research Fellowship.

2. OBJECTIVES
• To promote evidence-based research in Viddhakarma.
• To encourage young Ayurvedic clinicians and scholars.
• To generate publishable scientific data.
• To standardize Viddhakarma protocols.
• To strengthen the academic foundation of Viddhakarma nationally.

3. FELLOWSHIP DETAILS
Maximum Fellowship Amount: Up to ₹75,000/- per project
Final Sanctioned Amount: Decided by the Research Review Committee based on merit, scope, and budget justification.
Duration: 6 to 12 months
Mode: Project-based research fellowship
Number of Fellowships: One or more per year, depending on application quality.

4. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must:
• Hold a BAMS degree (mandatory).
• MD/MS (Ayurveda) or PhD scholars preferred.
• Possess valid registration with State/Central Ayurvedic Council.
• Have basic clinical experience in Viddhakarma.
• Be affiliated with a recognized Ayurvedic institution or registered clinic.

5. AREAS OF RESEARCH
Musculoskeletal disorders, pain management, neurological disorders, comparative clinical studies, mechanism-based research, classical textual documentation, standardization and protocol development. Other relevant topics may be approved by the Research Review Committee.

6. APPLICATION PROCESS
Applicants must submit: Completed Application Form, Detailed Research Proposal, Curriculum Vitae, Registration Certificate Copy, Ethical Clearance (if applicable), Budget Plan with justification, Timeline of Study. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

7. SELECTION PROCESS
1. Screening of applications by the Research Committee.
2. Technical evaluation and scoring.
3. Personal interview/presentation (if required).
4. Final approval by the Board of Trustees.
The decision of the Foundation shall be final and binding.


8. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FELLOW
Obtain ethical approval prior to study initiation (for clinical trials); maintain proper case records; submit quarterly progress reports; utilize funds strictly for approved research; present findings at a Foundation seminar; submit final report and publication-ready manuscript; acknowledge the Foundation in all publications.

Mandatory acknowledgment: "This research was supported by Vd. Gogate Memorial Foundation, Pune under the Viddhakarma Research Fellowship."

9. FINANCIAL REGULATIONS
Funds shall not be used for personal expenses. Proper bills and vouchers must be maintained. A Utilization Certificate must be submitted at completion. Unused funds must be returned.

10. ETHICAL GUIDELINES
Study must comply with biomedical ethical standards. Informed consent is mandatory. Patient confidentiality must be maintained. Adverse events must be reported immediately.

11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & PUBLICATION
Research data is jointly owned by the Fellow and the Foundation. Prior written permission is required before publication.

12. MONITORING & REVIEW
The Foundation may conduct site visits, review records, seek clarifications, or suspend/modify funding if progress is unsatisfactory.

13. TERMINATION
May be terminated for misuse of funds, ethical misconduct, data falsification, non-submission of reports, or violation of Foundation rules. Refund of funds may be demanded.

14. DISPUTE & JURISDICTION
All disputes subject to jurisdiction of Pune courts.

15. AMENDMENTS
The Foundation reserves the right to amend these rules at any time.

16. DECLARATION BY FELLOW
I hereby agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the Viddhakarma Research Fellowship.
